Southnord presents: Yemisi Wilson
As a firstborn daughter, Yemisi Wilson is named after both her grandmother Ebunola from Nigeria and her grandmother Anna from Sweden. They never met and lived very different lives, yet their genes share a place in their shared grandchildren. In the exhibition opening 2 October 2024, Yemisi portrays and honours these two significant women who have been important to their families. She examines what it means to have roots from Nigeria, a country she has never visited, and roots in Sweden that are deeply rooted in both Värmland and Stockholm.?
